Ripples

I remember posting this 1940's Spy Smasher comic years ago, before Flickr ravaged my account because they're douchebags.
Still funny.
Spy Smasher arrives in his delicious Greek transport and heads in, rather single-mindedly, ignoring the ground's insults on the way.
It's not shitty foreshortening, it's...umm...a very tiny rifle?
Dog of a pig = best insult since "Ryan Seacrest."
That's the most preposterous morning ritual ever. Okay, it ties with putting emu oil on your face, but at least that makes you smell like a delicious rotisserie chicken.
{PORTION OF GRAPHICAL REPRESENTATION OF WWII TRUFAX REDACTED BY O.S.S.}
The reasoning was apparently that making HItler a martyr would cause the German soldiers to redouble their efforts. In reality it might have meant Germany would eventually win, since Hitler's tactical prowess was..."legendary."
Positive affirmations work for Spy Smasher. That and Pilates.
You keep telling yourself that you made the right choice, slugger. Hell, if this comic went on any longer you'd probably repeat it three more times.
I imagine that he omitted certain details when he told his friends about "that time I almost killed Hitler." Probably something about a steel plate in Adolf's head that deflected the bullet, or his rifle was too tiny to be accurate beyond three meters.
Or because he was a bit of a dumbass.
God I love old comics.

01:41 pm - I suppose it could be seen as "polite"...
Out of courtesy, Menard's keeps their pedos on a separate floor.
Meanwhile, in the realm of things that it would be ENTIRELY APPROPRIATE to have sex with: Six foot tall, $23,000 dollar carved wooden King Ghidorah.

The story is a Sir Reginald story I wrote that you can read right here.
Since then, Art Grafunkel (
grafunkel) has drawn two pages of it in comic format.
PAGE ONE.
And while I don't remember writing it into the scripty thing--maybe I did; I'm terribly stupidly forgetful--the thought balloon in the final panel made me put pee in my pants.
PAGE TWO:

11:14 pm - Hi! ;)
These sound right up my alley: Cinnamon-Spiced Hot Chocolate Cookies. And THESE are *definitely* up my alley: Cake Sachets ;).
*sigh* I keep wanting and meaning to update, but it's just like... there's no time! I don't even know where it's all going o_O. It's not like I'm DOING all that much, I don't think... yet here I am, it's almost 10pm and I have no idea what happened to my day. Yeesh.
OK, let's see... mini update. I've been crocheting my fingers off. Work is good. Devin is BRILLIANT. Today: Earlier I asked Devin where her nom (paci) was, and she said backpack. I went and checked her little Hello Kitty backpack and sure enough, she'd put it in there! Yay for good baby memeories :). Then later I was looking around for the remote, didn't say anything. Devin not only figured out what I was doing, she popped up next to the sofa with it in her hand! "Here it is!" she exclaimed to me, handing me the remote. This kid is scary smart sometimes :). I know I never did her 2 year update... it's coming... eventually. I could chatter on about her forever. Yesterday she was gogo dancing to Curious George. Last week she put on pants pretty much my herself for the first time. She can put DVDs in all my herself and play them now. She can quote her fave Curious George ep...
See? On and on ;).
I haven't done a whole lot. Thanksgiving, as I posted (kinda) was good. We decided to be lazy for my 4 days off. We saw Albie Fri, Albie and Zach Sat and Zahra Sun. The only Black Friday I did was Michael's, for yarn for ami presents. Devin's sick again, so we were going to go to a baby shower today, but Devin was too sick to go out, especally since it was at 6pm :P. We might have a playdate tomorrow, but it depends on how she's feeling. She napped for 3.5 hours today!! AND went to bed pretty much at 8pm still. WOAH.
And that's it for now! More eventually!!
02:43 pm - Amigurumi love!
I discovered amigurumi almost exactly 2 years ago. I already loved crocheting, but this just took it to a whole new level. With so many wonderful things that could be made, I was in heaven!! A new obscession was born ;). Since then I've made so many fun toys, gotten Simple Making of Dolls -Hello Kitty, Amigurumi Patterns Cosmic Mook and Amigurumi No Nakamatachi in Japanese, not to mention Creepy Cute Crochet and Amigurumi World, and found SO MANY amazing web sites.
I felt like putting all my fave ami links and help together in one spot. So, besides cruising the wonderful

The results of yesterday's quiz were fascinating.
It was interesting to see who'd pick the member of a a race of predatory extra-terrestrials who would like to conquer the universe and who would choose a fake-breasted, famous-only-because-of-her-parents-and-s
In other news, have an awesome Google street-view of the ruins of Pompeii.

10:08 am - Holy shit yeah.
It's a bit of a kick in the creative pants when one of your friends is turning a story of yours into a comic and it's looking better than it did in your head when you were writing it.
grafunkel totally did that to me.
The story is a Sir Reginald piece that you can read right here. But for now just enjoy his awesome.
Well done, Belgian Van den Belgian--IF THAT IS YOUR REAL NAME. Fucking nice one. Can't wait to see the rest.
Happy Barbadian Independence Day!

11:44 pm - Happy Thanksgiving!!
I really want to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving Day!! I hope you enjoyed your food!! ;D
Devin and I went to my Dad's house, it was a lot of fun! Albie was there too, and even Mom and Moe showed up right about when we were leaving. Eva and her sister cooked a TON of food. I got tostones!! No pics up yet from tonight... I'm still way behind, so enjoy Devin being adorable in her jammies :).
I am so thankful for so many things this year... This has been a BIG year for me. I am thankful for my family and friends and their support, for my new job, new car, belly dance, for my fabulous apartment, creativity, and last but FAR from least I am SO thankful for my daughter. I see these kids when I go out to the mall or BRU or whereever and I KNOW that I have a good, amazing, brilliant and well behaved daughter. She is absolutely the light of my life. There are a lot of challenges ahead of me, but overall I think I'm in a much better place than I was 1 year ago. Thank you!!
